Welcome to True North Teddies! We are a home based family breeder of teddy bear puppies, located in Edmonton, Alberta. Our dogs are part of our family, and we raise our puppies in a loving home environment, following a puppy culture program. This includes early exposure to sights, sounds, smells, and experiences to help each pup increase their confidence. We have little ones of our own, and they also help us socialize the pups!
Because of the family environment we raise our puppies in, we produce puppies with well rounded, loving personalities. Raising puppies is hard work, but it is so rewarding when we hear all the positive feedback about our fur babies.
We lovingly refer to our pups as little teddies. What is a “Teddy Bear dog” you ask? They are a small mixed-breed dog defined by a non- or low-shedding coat that can been groomed into a cute rounded face and soft fluffy coat – just like a teddy bear! The mix is known for their intelligence, affectionate nature, and playful personality. The original teddy is the Shichon (ShihTzu x Bichon), but can include other bichon or poodle crosses, such as a Shipoo (ShihTzu x Poodle) or Yorkichon (Yorkie x Bichon). These amazing parent breeds produce beautiful, loyal, and sweet dogs that make wonderful companions! We typically expect only a few litters per year, so availability is very limited!
At True North Teddies, our goal is to provide families with healthy and well-adjusted puppies that will bring joy and companionship for years to come. We are passionate about breeding, training, and continued care. We strive to uphold the highest standards of breeding and care for our puppies.

We believe in the importance of genetic health testing. Testing our parent dogs helps to reduce the risk of genetic health issues in our puppies and ensure that the pups have the best possible chance at a long and healthy life.
